Beautiful and rare antique Chinese glass tabular disks, often mistakenly called Peking glass. These have the soft gemstone colors and bubbles of old Chinese glass. Average 35mm hole to hole, 38mm wide. 10mm thickness. This type of glass was often intended to simulate gemstones such as jade, emeralds and quartz. Before 1911, beads of this type were made as counterweight pendants to Mandarin Court jewelry. After 1911 these disk beads were made for the Chinese Opera costumes.
We are very excited to have acquired these gorgeous beads. These are very difficult to find and we have very limited quantities.
