Vintage necklace of beautiful rare old Chinese "Peking glass" in shades of blue and green. A classic Art Deco style.  On light blue knotted cord. 36 inches plus 2 1/2 inch dangle. Large bottom bead is 22 mm. Beads are in good condition. No apparent chips or cracks.   No clasp.  Slips easily over the head.  From an antique jewelry dealer's estate.

These wound beads were likely made in Boshan, Shandong province in China. Before 1911, beads of this type were used in Mandarin Court jewelry.  These beads are popularly called Peking glass but are not true Peking glass. These have the distinctive soft gemstone colors and bubbles of old Chinese glass.
